Our New Logo

We have decided to change our logo font to Floydian as it is a more organic style font that suits the band as a whole. It's simple, smooth and suggests that the band isn't trying to heavily sell themselves to a particularly main stream audience. It will contrast the light and the dark sides of life in our day an age and the colours seem to relate to our previous media project giving us inspiration. The un-even writing represents how our music is independently different in every aspect, giving it an organic name. We will be using this font in our posters as well as our album cover in the future.

Risk Assessment

During the course of shooting our music video, which will be separated into two (working) days – one for filming the bands performance element of the video and the other for the main narrative. As well as this, a lot of our music video will be filmed in public which means you cannot guarantee the conditions when will film so precautions have to be taken.  There are many risks that needed to be assessed prior to the film day to ensure everything runs smoothly with no injuries occurring. I will present these risks in relation to our music video timeline.

Risk	Action Carried Out
Water from crashing cymbal could affect the electrics or camera lens	Filmed from slightly further out (using zoom) – drummer took precaution when filming this shoot.
As the narrative requires the boy to stumble out of the house steps – he could trip over and fall	The actor didn’t rush the action and took precaution whilst filming it
The scene where the father throws the guitar could hit someone or another car, or even fall out of the window during the action	We made sure he didn’t rush the action and took precautions. Also made sure there was no-one near (nor car) the line of fire
The low-angle shot where we have to film out the window the risk here is that the camera could fall out and break	The action carried out it is that we tightened the wrist strap to keep the camera more firm
Boy could trip up when running away from the house	Made sure his lace were tied up and took any further precautions, e.g. cleared any large rocks on the floor
In the scene where the boy meets up with the drug-dealer at the top of railway bridge – could slip if surface is wet	Made sure the surface wasn’t wet/take further precautions such as no fast paced movements that could cause any injuries
When the boy is sneaking upstairs he may trip and fall	We will make sure that when the boy is walking up the stairs he is making sure where he is going
The ‘fighting’ scene, which occurs on the same bridge, has similar risks and therefore similar actions need to be carried out to ensure no danger. The fighting could cause injury if done incorrectly	The fighting will be rehearsed and carefully done – the filming will be shot from far away to make it look realistic but also to ensure no close contact needed – limiting risks
When plugging in the instruments, they could get electrocuted.	Just make sure electrics are off when  you plug the cables in and then turn it on

After following these risk assessments we will have a risk free shoot day with no anomalies taking place.

Bands Similar To Ours - Kings of Leon

Kings Of Leon are an American rock band who stand out as an organic band. We can see this in the picture as the band members are not looking directly into the camera lens which showcases their counter-type to traditional synthetic rock bands. Three of the four band members are wearing dark clothing which signifies how they are less interested about their image such as pleasing teenage girls, which seems to be the focus from synthetic rock band's record companies. In our band we will have similarities with Kings Of Leon as the lead singer is going to be topless, with the rest of the band wearing organic and dark clothing in order to showcase a persona of traditional heavy rock.

The image above is in grey-scale which demonstrates how the band are organic and do not appeal to a female audience, as they accentuate their male star image. We can see that some band members have their hands in their pockets which shows how the band are very organic by the way they stand up. Their clothes  look different and the band members maintain a serious face towards the camera to portray their originality and how they conform to stereotypical rock bands who look very disconcerted, dark and sinister. Our band will be similar to this since we will be dressed differently and will have organic faces towards the camera in order to convey the rock image of our band.




The CD covers tend to be plain black with an image in the middle, which does not refer to the band or its members. The band's name is at the top in small text which conveys how the band aren't selling themselves by their name and are organic in the choice of image that they choose to be in the middle. Our CD cover will definitely feature some aspects of graphically designed images such as the ones that Kings of Leon have in their CD covers.



The website is vibrant and interactive, with animation being used in the main body of the website. The band have used a unique and organic look that is portrayed in their website since it differs from many other band's websites, including The 1975. Our website will most likely not feature use of animation, however the design can definitely give us ideas as to how we layout our website.
